Telehealth Psychology
Online Trauma Therapist
& Psychologist | Alberta Telehealth
While our physical clinic serves South Calgary, we provide secure, PHIPA-compliant telehealth psychological services to residents across Alberta, including Edmonton, Red Deer, Lethbridge, and rural Alberta communities.
Province-Wide Reach
Quality trauma care, wherever you are in Alberta
Access to a trauma-specialised psychologist should not depend on your postal code. Many Albertans — particularly those in smaller cities, rural areas, or communities without local mental health specialists — face significant barriers to evidence-based trauma care. Telehealth removes those barriers entirely.
Natalie Bertrand is a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP), authorised to provide psychological services throughout the province. All telehealth sessions meet the same clinical and ethical standards as in-person care.

All virtual sessions are conducted over encrypted, PHIPA-compliant video platforms. Your privacy and confidentiality are protected to the same standard as in-person care.

Common Questions
Telehealth FAQ
Is online therapy as effective as in-person therapy?
Yes. A substantial body of research — including randomised controlled trials — demonstrates that telehealth therapy is clinically equivalent to in-person therapy for trauma, PTSD, anxiety, and depression. EMDR has also been validated for online delivery.
What technology do I need?
A smartphone, tablet, or computer with a camera and microphone, and a stable internet connection. You will receive a secure link before your session — no downloads required.
Is my session private and confidential?
All sessions are conducted over PHIPA-compliant, encrypted video platforms. We recommend attending from a private space where you feel comfortable speaking freely.
Can I do EMDR online?
Yes. EMDR can be delivered effectively via telehealth using screen-based bilateral stimulation or audio tones. Many clients find online EMDR equally effective — and for some, the comfort of their own environment enhances the process.
Are you registered to practise in Alberta?
Yes. Natalie Bertrand is a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP) and is authorised to provide psychological services to residents throughout the province of Alberta.
